🎄 Welcome to my 12 Days of Techmas! 🎄



During this 🎄 season, I will be sharing 12 technology 🎁 for you to explore, use and integrate into your classroom or work.

Day 7 is Emojipedia!

Emojipedia is an emoji search engine. You can perform a fast emoji search with options to browse every emoji by name, category, or platform.
Did you know that in total there are 2,823 emojis in the Unicode Standard?  🎁 🎅🏿 🤶 🌰 Thank goodness Emojipedia explains what each of these emojis are. To use an emoji in your document or on social media or in an email, simply click on copy and then paste. Emojis can also be resized just like any image. 

Emojis can be used in an infinite number of ways, but in my experience, these are some of the most common:
  • 👉 To lighten the mood by introducing humor 😀
  • 👉 To find a more comfortable way to express ourselves 🤯
  • 👉 To communicate when words fail us 🤔
  • 👉 To speak a language that Gen Z relates to 🤳
  • 👉 To tell a story in a creative and unique style. 📓

Poetry Month is Right Around the Corner Are you getting ready for Poetry Month in April? If so, I have some resources to share with you for creating concrete poems. Concrete poems are words written in a shape to convey a poem. They look like this: Recently I went on a mission to search for a site to use with a fellow colleague and her students. They wanted to make concrete poetry on their Chromebooks. There aren't many sites that allow the user to actually write words into any shape.  There is the Read, Write, Think interactive for Theme Poetry.  Here is what it looks like. I have bookmarks saved on Pinterest, Symbaloo, Listly, Delicious, Diigo, Etc. Guess what, sometimes I have a hard time finding what I bookmarked.  :) So I'm curious to know what you use and if you have a favorite.
