E School Today has a nice interactive elesson on Energy called The Energy Story .   There are click and drag games as well as a quiz at the end of the lesson.  The Energy Story would be a great was to supplement a science lesson on energy.

Here is a phenomenal K-5 site of interactives that work very well projected onto your SMART board.  This site was created by Karen Ogen , an IT Specialist in North Carolina. The site is organized by tabs across the top.  The topics cover a large variety of subjects. One thing I have done in the past, to use interactive sites like these, is to create QR codes for the sites.  I then place the QR code at the top of a piece of paper with a few questions that students could answer after viewing the site.  Students scan the QR code with the Quick Mark download and then answer the questions.   Take a look at some of the great opportunities from this site: I would like to thank Karen for putting this site together (notice it is made with Weebly!) Succeeding with Science is a great site for all ages.  There are interactives and elessons on various science topics. Each age level has different interactives:   Ages 4 - 7 Ages 11 - 14   Ages 7 - 11   Ages 14 - 16 Here is an example of an interactive on the Human Body. Here is an example of an elesson on electrical circuits. I highly recommend sharing Succeeding with Science with your students.

eBooks are the future.  Do you have an eReader?  I personally love my Kindle Fire and read on it daily.  Today's students should also experience eReaders and digital books.    I find that my students really enjoy experiencing a story on the Internet.  My co-teacher and I use eBooks with our students during RTI (Response to Intervention) all of the time. Here are two eBook sites to share with your students. Msnucleus.org has storybooks about science.   Topics covered are: Applied science - electricity and light Universe Cycle Plate Tectonics Cycle Rock Cycle Water Cycle Life Cycle - organisms, human biology, plants and natural environment. Each eBook has animation and text.  The stories are interesting and engaging. Lately my reading students have been very interested in discussing current events (Groundhog's Day, the Super Bowl etc.)  My math students love when I apply knowledge of a current event or interesting topic into our story problems.  So I decided to do a post about websites that provide resources in this area. Here are two math sites that apply math problems to the real world and a great web site on the science topic of quarks. #1 Yummy Math - this site shares math problems based on things happening in the world today.   The newest scenarios are on Groundhog's Day and The Super Bowl.   The topics covered are Algebra, Number Sense, Geometry, Food Math, Sports and more.  I like that the topics are of interest to students because they cover current events like American Idol , the Chinese New Year ,  and Facebook .   Most problems include a printable word or pdf document with questions.  A few include video or audio clips. ...
