Oh my goodness! December snuck up on me so quickly!  Are you ready for the holidays and for all the rigmarole? Let's take a minute to check out a few "Links and Loves" from this past week. #1 Here are some December backgrounds for your phones, tablets and computers. #2 I've finished reading this book . This is one of those novels that people either really like or really dislike. Personally I enjoyed the story and characters. The themes in this book are about loyalty, betrayal, loss, sacrifice and tragedy. I kept wondering how someone could actually have seven husbands, but each marriage was believable and I found myself sympathizing with the main character. #3 I learned about the "inspect" tool for websites from Richard Byrne through this video and I feel so techy and knowledgeable now.  I think this could be a great lesson in showing students how easy it is to create fake websites and unreliable sources of information online. #4 Slidesmania has a new slid...

Greetings educator friends and colleagues. I hope your week went well. Here are a few interesting finds from this week. #1 Have you notices the number of fast food restaurants that have "We're Hiring" signs? Check out this robotic solution! Meet Flippy. It's the world's first AI kitchen assistant,  a robotic and autonomous smart-kitchen solution created by Miso Robotics,  made for quick-service restaurants (QSRs) across the world.  Speaking of robots, have you heard of "soft robots"? They can handle things more gently than a regular robot. I'm not sure who enjoys this more, the teachers or the students.  Here are a few things that have come my way this week: Top 5 Game-Based Learning Websites  posted by Meagan Kelly from "I  ♥  Edu".  I'm all in when it comes to using game-based learning in the classroom. I came across this video  I created to help a colleague on how to make a stop animation video using Google Slides. It's a pretty rough video, but still worth sharing. This reminded me of this  free webinar on making stop animation by Eric Curts.  I'm excited to begin offering STEM activities to our HS students along with my colleague, Teri, our media specialist. We're going to focus on using the Cricut cutting machine during the month of November. Encouraging students to explore STEM related activities and careers is very important to me. This week ...
