Two Nice Drawing Sites

Image
Sometimes the best way to explain something is through a drawing.  Today I'd like to share two drawing sites that have some great features.  One feature that they don't require a registration.   The first site is FlockDraw .  Here are some of the features: I especially like the fact that students can work together on a drawing.   If you use the embed code to embed the drawing on your site, you are actually sharing the link to your drawing and then people can join you and draw with you.  For example, here is a drawing embedded onto a wiki.  If you type in a nickname, you can draw on my picture.  This could be a bit risky with privacy.  I wouldn't use this in my classroom. Here is a drawing I made using Flockdraw to demonstrate my understanding of classifying triangles. The second site is called Drawzit .  This site has some really nice features as well.   There is no registration needed  There are ho...

Drawz it

There is a wonderful new tool for drawing online called Drawz it.   (Drawz it is in beta, which means it is being tested for use.)   One of the best features of this tool is the sharing option to obtain an embed code for placing a drawing into a blog or wiki.  For example: Create your own drawings at http://www.drawzit.com ! AND Create your own drawings at http://www.drawzit.com ! To see all of the features of Drawz it and to find out more about sharing options, click here .  Tammy Worcester explains Drawz it in her Tech Tip of the Week.

Record Yourself While You Draw!

Sketchcast allows you to draw or type while you record yourself. This example is a student recording their Veteran's Day Poem while they draw.   Another idea could be to draw and explain a concept you have been taught such as a cross section of ground water, a math problem, a diagram, or images for vocabulary words.   Russell Stannard of Teachertrainingvideos.com has a series of tutorials that show how to use Sketchcast .  One idea I really like is the idea of channels.  And as Russell explains, if you have a classroom account, students can post their Sketchcast and the teacher can subscribe to the channel to see each of the students' Sketchcasts.

Little Bird Tales

This digital storytelling site looks like a great one for students.  I love that students can use their own art work or imported pictures to create the story.  The other neat feature is that students can record their own voice to go with the story. Watch the video to learn more:
