My friend Trisha Louis shared this collection of health and fitness gifs and they are awesome! These are so useful for any teachers teaching phy. ed. or health classes. Of course I had to choose a baseball example to show you.  ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨⬜🟨🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Last week I talked about Wordle and how this word game has taken over the Internet. Well, I'll admit that I'm hooked and enjoying trying to solve the Wordle each day.  I even have a friendly comparison happening between myself and a colleague at work.   This week I discovered that there is a site which allows you to make your own Wordle. It is called " Word Rodeo ".   With word.rodeo , you can choose how many letters you want the word to be and copy a link to share your Word Rodeo with others.   Here is a link to a puzzle I created. Can you solve it? I also came across this Waklet collection of Wordle variations . I warned you that I am a bit addicted.  This is a helpful...

Would You Know How to Teach Students About Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence Impacts Us Every Day AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is a part of each of our lives and the lives of our students, whether we realize it or not.  Here are just a few examples of how AI can impact our day. There are many more examples to mention. The examples above are ones that came to my mind at the time of writing this post . What About Teaching Students About AI? I've been facilitating an online class about artificial intelligence through ISTE U. Being a part of ISTE U , I have the wonderful opportunity to learn and gather resources from my online colleagues throughout the course, "Artificial Intelligence Explorations and Their Practical Use In School Environments". Below, I have collected some of the resources, projects and examples of AI that could be used in a lesson or project in your classroom. Click each hyperlink to be taken to the resource.     I'm learning so much from my ISTE U colleagues. They are a...

Links and Loves - Tech backgrounds, AI, Brush Ninja and What I'm Doing This Weekend

Hello! How was your first full week of November? Check out these free November downloadable tech backgrounds . Since I am completely immersed in all things artificial intelligence right now, this post caught my eye. I would love to use my Amazon Alexa smart speaker in a classroom. The difficult part is that any smart speaker needs to be connected via wifi, which is pretty tricky when you are using school wifi. I need to revisit using my Alexa smart speaker in school to see if this is even possible. Speaking of AI, I was helping a teacher this week to create a Google Form quiz , and I showed her how to use the artificial intelligence built in to Google Form Quizzes to generate the right and wrong answers. Have you tried this yet ? Another thing that was on my list of things to try was Brush.ninja ! I discovered this animated Gif maker on this Instagram post from Learning In Hand.  I created two gifs using Brush.ninja . The first one was just for fun to learn ...

Engage Students and Enhance Learning with Innovative Activities from Google

Engage Students and Enhance Learning with Innovative Activities from Google Recently I presented a webinar on using some of Google's latest and greatest experiments and activities. I thought I would share this presentation through my blog incase anyone wants to explore some of these fabulous ideas. During the webinar, we explored a range of activities, including some that use your voice, actions, or drawings in games and storytelling. I also showed how teachers and students can learn about concepts such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented reality in simple, creative ways. Use the activities in this slideshow to engage students and enhance learning with a variety of activities and experiments that can be used across curriculum. ENJOY!

What is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning? AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the ability for computers to perform tasks that are usually performed by humans such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making and translations in languages. Machine Learning is a type of AI where computer systems learn to make decisions based on collected data. After listening to the Google Teacher Tribe Podcast on the topic of AI and Machine Learning,  I was inspired to write this post. Here are some examples of AI and Machine Learning that you can use in your classrooms. Quick Draw by Google  - Draw the object and see if the computer system can recognize the object.  Auto Draw  - a game where the computer tries to guess what you're drawing and lets you replace your drawing with an artistic drawing. I drew a turkey Here is one of the recommended artistic images Mystery Animal  - The computer pretends to...
