Stipple

Stipple is a new tool that is used to put pinmarks on any image. Stipple is similar to Thinglink.  Stipple allows the user to upload an image and then add pinmarks in the form of links, audio, video, text or social media.  

 So here is a  Stipple image with pinmarks to four blogs that I plan to follow in the new year.

Stipple also has a free app for creating interactive images on the go.

 I would be cautious when using Stipple with elementary students because some of the content created by others may not be appropriate.

Hi Deb, thanks for your post on how Stipple brings photos to life. We definitely want to be sensitive to content that may inappropriate for children. Please note that a user can "Report Photo" within stipple.com if it's deemed inappropriate and we have filters for removing adult content from any publicly visible areas.

More importantly, interactive images can be shown directly within any website, as you did for this post, which ensures that students are only exposed to your content.

Thank you for the clarifications. I have used Stipple a few times now and I am quite impressed with the ease and possibilities. I need to look into the filters for removing adult content.

CommonLit.org - Guided Reading Activities From the moment I opened CommonLit.org I was impressed. CommonLit has free reading passages and progress tracking tools for grades 5th - 12th. I started by creating an account. CommonLit.org is 100% free. In the Library tab, I can filter my search by book, genre, grade level, literary device, text set or theme.   Once a reading passage is chosen, there are several choices. On the right there are guiding questions, assessment questions and discussion questions.
